Independent Living can also be referred to as a retirement community. Independent Living communities can have activities, a clubhouse, pool, and other social settings to promote an active exciting lifestyle. These residences may or may not have an age requirement. Communities are called “Age Inclusive” if they have no restrictions on age and are geared to a retired population. “Age Exclusive” communities usually are 55 and older. Independent Living communities are great for an individual who can care for themselves, yet enjoys the socialization and community feel.
